PRIVACY POLICY

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

When you use Departist, we collect and process the following information:

• Artist Profile Data: Name, email, phone, location (state), artist statement, bio, medium, Instagram handle, website URL
• Artwork Photos: Images you upload for AI analysis (processed, not permanently stored on our servers)
• Artwork Analysis: AI-generated descriptions of your artwork style, medium, and themes
• Submission History: Which calls you've applied to, dates, and categories
• Waitlist Email: If you join our waitlist, we store your email address

2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

Your data is used to:

• Build and maintain your artist profile for auto-filling submission forms
• Match you with relevant calls for entry based on your medium, location, and artwork
• Score call compatibility using AI analysis
• Provide AI coaching suggestions for form fields
• Improve the Service over time

3. WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES

On your device: Your artist profile, submission history, favorites, and cached scores are stored locally on your phone using AsyncStorage. We do not have access to this data unless you send it to our servers during scoring or form filling.

On our servers: When you use scoring, AI coaching, or artwork analysis features, your profile data is sent to our Cloudflare Workers API, which forwards relevant portions to AI services (Anthropic Claude) for processing. This data is not permanently stored on our servers.

Waitlist: Email addresses submitted through the waitlist are stored in Cloudflare KV storage.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): For artwork analysis, call scoring, eligibility checking, and AI coaching. Your profile data and artwork descriptions are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare: For hosting our API, storing waitlist data, and serving our website. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• CaFE (callforentry.org): You log into CaFE through a WebView in our app. We do not store your CaFE password. Your CaFE session remains on your device.

5. WHAT WE DO NOT DO

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone
• We do not share your artwork with other users or publicly
• We do not store your CaFE login credentials
• We do not access your CaFE account when you're not using the app
• We do not track you across other apps or websites
• We do not send marketing emails (waitlist notification only)

6. DATA RETENTION

Profile data stored on your device persists until you clear the app data or uninstall the app. Data sent to our API for scoring and coaching is processed in real-time and not permanently stored. Waitlist emails are retained until you request removal or we complete the launch notification.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

You can:

• Delete your profile by clearing app data on your device
• Request removal of your waitlist email by contacting us
• Stop using the Service at any time — no account deletion needed since data is device-local

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Departist is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
